One of many park rangers within the Democratic Republic of the Congo, T’wari is a skilled tracker and expeditionist though has become somewhat jaded due to his many ventures within the harsh landscape which is still riddled with rebellion, crime, and other assortment of misdeeds.
Having heard many tales from his grandfather, T’wari firmly believes he is a descendant of the lost Ijawa tribe of the Congo, a tribe which was believed to be many times more advanced than others of its time. Whether or not the tribe exist is still under speculation as few still believe as in superstitious rumors of such a lost civilization. Still, his belief in his heritage is something T’wari finds both pride and confusion within as it one of the few things he does not not wish to confront personally
A man of little patience and even less sympathy, Dume is one of many poachers/ rebels within the Congo who are always looking to make a name for themselves. Dume is young, headstrong, and quick to temper and has been harshened by his experiences within the Congo. Dume and T’wari have come into contact with one another on various occasions and neither one has shown the other the slightest hint of respect. Both men hold scars that the other has placed on them and would be more than happy to see the other gone.
T’wari’s best friend and partner while working as a park ranger, Shombae is just as knowledgeable in the field as he is out. Currently engaged to Shuri, Shombae was more than willing to lead the expedition to find the lost civilization of the Ijawa tribe though still desired T’wari to join if not only to quell things with his sister but to also for him to discover what remained of the ancestors he so proudly claims to be from.
