A little look into my design process on creature concepts. I always start with getting references for not only the creature design but also the environment it will inhabit if it were an actual creature. An environment always affects an animals not only general appearance, but also its internal functions such as blubber or other internal insulation. Next I usually start with silhouettes while then going on to rough sketches then final design. This the process that I usually make edits to the design that I feel don't work.
Angelus is creature/character that have been working on for close to 7 years now. It has gone through many different variations and concepts over those years but I have always been so endeared to it so that always try to go back to it to see how far I have progressed as an artist. These two designs showcase the very first design and the most recent.
